As new President of SHPE Silicon Valley, I'd like to welcome everyone
to our chapter web site. The 2008-2009 year will be an exciting time as we
organize social and networking events, help our local community, and
provide support and mentorship to our fellow Latino professionals. If you have

2nd Annual End-of-Year SHPE Banquet!
The 2nd Annual joint SHPE Silicon Valley and
San Francisco Bay Area
chapters Banquet will be held on Saturday June 28rd at 6 PM at the San Francisco
Airport Marriott Hotel.

Interested in having your company host a SHPE-SV member meeting?
The contact person is SHPE-SV President:

The host provides a meeting room for about 25 members from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. Host also provides refreshments. Your company has the opportunity to do a corporate presentation to our membership, from 7 to 7:30 PM.
Need Volunteers - EXCEL Mentoring and Latino
Scholars Programs
Would you like to make a difference in a young student's
life? Are you willing to share a Saturday morning or a
couple of hours per month with a group of energetic young
people?
SHPE-SV is looking for volunteers for the EXCEL Mentoring
Program and the new Latino Scholars Program. We need
volunteers to participate at all levels:
- volunteers at the sessions
- session leaders for workshops/activities
- members for the planning committees
- program co-coordinators (one more needed for EXCEL,
two for Latino Scholars)
We need YOU to help us continue to run these programs
successfully.
