ASSISTANT ELECTRICAL ENGINEER II / ASSISTANT ENGINEER II (ELECTRICAL)

DUTIES:
To perform a variety of professional electrical engineering duties in the design, development, implementation, modification, installation, and maintenance of the District’s electrical distribution system in the area of water production, treatment and distribution, and energy and water conservation; to ensure work quality and adherence to professional codes, standards, and District specifications; and to perform a variety of professional tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Two years of professional electrical engineering experience at a level equivalent to that of the Assistant Electrical Engineer I classification and Training: Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in electrical engineering or a related field OR possession of a valid California Engineer-In-Training Certificate with two years of associated paraprofessional engineering experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Registered positions within this classification must possess registration as a Professional Electrical Engineer in the State of California. Possession of a valid California driver’s license is required. Selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a medical examination.
SALARY:
$7,169.07 - $8,732.53 per month (Registered)—Based on a five-step salary plan
$6,994.00 - $8,519.33 per month (Unregistered)—Based on a five-step salary plan
Includes PERS (Public Employees’ Retirement System) Member Contribution of 7.407%

SELECTION PROCESS:
(1) The District Employment Application, Supplemental Questions, and any other required documents (resume recommended) will be evaluated for minimum qualifications.
(2) Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications will proceed to an application package appraisal assessment. The assessment score will be weighted 100% in determining the candidate’s ranking on the qualified list.
(3) Candidates who best match the requirements of the position will be invited to interview, which may include a performance and/or written exercise.

A qualified list may result from this examination process and may be used to fill future vacancies. Position and start date is subject to availability of funds. The District retains the right to repost this position as deemed necessary.
